Duck Valley Indian Reservation

In April many of the local rivers are running high, and it is a good time to fish the still water in this area.  Duck Valley Indian Reservation, on the Oregon-Nevada border, holds several excellent fishing waters, with trophy sized rainbow trout planted by the Fish, Wildlife & Parks agency of the Sho-Pai tribes.

April is a good time to visit, although the shoulder season can mean that weather will be a consideration.  Participants of this outing typically bring campers, trailers, or tents to camp near the lake, although there is a small motel in nearby town of Owyhee, NV with a handful of rooms available.

Mountain View Reservoir:  Open Year Round

Sheep Creek Reservoir:     Open Year Round

Lake Billy Shaw:                Open from April 1 to October 31

East Fork Owyhee River:    Open from April 1 to October 31

A special license from the Sho-Pai agency is required to fish these waters.  Information about the area can be found HERE.
