Virtual White Fish Derby 2021

VIRTUAL FLY FISHING DERBY

February marks the month BVFF has traditionally held the White Fish Derby, an annual event for nearly 50 years.  Sadly this year we will not be holding this one day event, in support of COVID-19 isolation directives, and support reduction of the infection rate in the community.  It is our hope that by this time next year 2022 BVFF will be able to resume this popular event in its classic format.  We ask for the support of BVFF members and the angling community to do their part so as to bring an end to this pandemic.

Instead BVFF will be holding a VIRTUAL WHITE FISH DERBY.  This is to encourage members to get out and fish.

VIRTUAL DERBY RULES:

1. All participants must be current BVFF members for 2021.
2. Each participant must register for the event.  Registration is accomplished using the registration link for this event on the www.BVFF.com website.  You must be a BVFF member to register.
3. Derby participants will  post directly to our BVFF Facebook Page.  In your submittal add the following data:
   
   • A picture of the whitefish held next to a tape measure.  Make sure the tape is readable.  The electronic picture must be properly time/date-stamped to have been caught during the open period of the derby.  (Suggest using cell phone camera).  See document HERE on measuring your fish.
   • Date and Time whitefish was caught
   • Location  (which river, e.g. Boise Main, SF Boise, etc.)
   • Fly used (optional)

4. The derby begins Feb 1 and will conclude on Feb 28.  Registration will be closed after this date.
5. By posting you are giving BVFF rights to post your picture on our website, Facebook and Instagram.
6. There is no fee for entering the derby.

2nd Place:  Drawing:   Buck Knife with BVFF logo.  From the postings there will be a drawing for this prize.

You can enter numerous times.  The pictures are not limited to White Fish.  Post pictures about your day on the water.
